Blazing a Path Towards Jesus

Good Morning my friends,

After three years of writing my daily devotions, I’ve been wondering where I go from here. I will without a doubt be forging full-steam ahead however it’s been weighing heavily on my heart how do I take my devotional to next level so I can reach more people. As I’ve ponder & prayed over my thoughts one of the things I’ve tried not to do over the last three years is march to the beat of the world. Instead I’ve tried to make sure that I’m blazing a path to my Heaven Father. As a believer in Christ and the Bible, it might appear that the battle is being lost in the world that we’re living in today, however I am reminded that every time I read the book of Revelations, it’s Jesus Christ and His people that are victorious when it’s all said and done. I can assure you it’s not those that deny Christ, live in the flesh and bow down to the demands of society.. I’m going to continue to press forward and in all likelihood my next moves will be YouTube and Instagram because we are already on Facebook & Twitter, and of course have this blog. I’m not sure if anyone will be too keen looking at my ugly mug but God is leading this journey..

“The fig tree forms its early fruit; the blossoming vines spread their fragrance. Arise, come, my darling; my beautiful one, come with me.” (Song of Solomon 2:13)

Jesus wants you to go away with Him. He wants you to get somewhere quiet and talk to Him and listen for His response. The world we live in is nonstop with it’s demands. Put the world on hold instead of being like most people that put Him on hold. Don’t rationalize your thoughts of putting Him on hold and make plans that someday you will find time to focus on Him. The longer people push Jesus into the background of their lives, the harder it will be for them to find Him.. Don’t be one of those whom glorifies busyness; those people have made time a tyrant that controls their lives. Those who do not know Jesus as their Savior march to the tempo of the world. They have bought into the illusion that more is always better: more meetings, more programs, more activity. Jesus calls upon you to follow Him on a solitary path, making time alone with Him your highest priority and deepest Joy. It is a pathway largely unappreciated and often despised. However, when you have choose the better way, it will never be taken away from you. Walk close to Him so that He can bless others through you.

“But few things are needed—or indeed only one. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her.” (Luke 10:42)

MY CHALLENGE PRAYER for YOU..  Chose to follow Christ on the path that He choses not the world.

I hope you all have a WONDERFUL day… Blessing & much love…D

ALWAYS…..  Live YOUR life like it’s your LAST 24!!

The Bottomless Pity of Self-Pity

Good Morning my friends,

You have a choice to loath in self pity which ultimately will send you plummeting into an abyss or you can relish in confidence that you can find in knowing Jesus.. I often see people post about the woo’s that they’re experiencing in their life but yet most of the time they never seem to be willing to accept the responsibility for their current situation.  It’s never their fault and ALWAYS someone else’s.  Your circumstances in life are not caused by someone twisting your arm, but instead are a direct result from the choices you have made in your life.  The drug addict chooses to do drugs, the alcoholic chooses to drink, the weak choose to not do anything to get strong, and the broke choose not to do anything about their finances.. People want change in their life and in our society but yet they’re unwilling to make the right choices to make the changes that are needed in their own lives first.

I fell into my bottomless pit of self-pity in the summer 2011. This was solely the result of the many poor choices that I starting making during the spring of that year. I like everyone else placed blame on everyone but myself. I even convinced myself that it was God sent. Let me tell you, if you ever make a decision that results with you having to commit sin then it’s definitely not God sent. Once I finally took responsibility for my actions, I also decided that I needed to make changes in my life. The changes I started with was in my heart. I asked Jesus to come into my heart and change it. I then chose to make changes in the direction that my life was headed. My change of direction meant going in the opposite direction from where I was previously headed. It meant changing the people I hung out with, it meant eliminating vendors, and it meant changing the things I placed in my body. How could I expect to ever change, if I continued to walk down the same path. Albert Einstein defined insanity as doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.   I was ready and wanted a different result in my life, so I made the decision to make the changes and once I made those changes my life changed..  A couple years later, after reading The Traveler’s Gift, I adopted the 7 Decisions for Success from the book.

“1. The buck stops here. I am responsible for my past and my future.

2. I will seek wisdom. I will be a servant to others.

3. I am a person of action. I seize this moment. I choose now.

4. I have a decided heart. My destiny is assured.”

5. Today I will choose to be happy. I am the possessor of a grateful spirit.

6. I will greet this day with a forgiving spirit. I will forgive myself.

7. I will persist without exception. I am a person of great faith.”

“Why, my soul, are you downcast? Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise him, my Savior and my God.” (Psalm 42:5)

Self-pity is a slimy bottomless pit. Once you fall in, you will go deeper and deeper into the mire. As you slide down those slippery walls, you’re well on your way to depression. The darkness from inside is very profound and can seem never ending and once you’re in your only hope is to look for the light of Jesus’ Presence that will be shining down on you. Although the Light may appear dim from your perspective from deep within the pit, those rays of hope can reach you at any depth no matter what. While you focus on the trust of Jesus instead of where you are, you will rise slowly out of your abyss of despair. Once you’re finally able to reach up and grasp His hand, He will pull you out of your abyss and into the Light of His Holy Presence. He will gently cleanse your soul while washing off the clinging mire. He will cover you with His righteousness and walk with you down your path of Life.

“He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire; he set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand. He put a new song in my mouth, a hymn of praise to our God. Many will see and fear the Lord and put their trust in him.” (Psalm 40:2-3)

MY CHALLENGE PRAYER for YOU.. It’s your decision to take action and change your life..
I hope you all have a TREMENDOUS day… Blessing & much love…D

 I Love Storms

Good Morning my friends
Last night as I was trying to fall asleep I was listening to one of my favorite songs which is Revelation Song.  That song reminds me of the stormy weather.  With any good storm there is usually an amazing light show.  To me lightening is beautiful.  It’s like God’s majestic beauty flashing across the sky.   I can’t help but love storms.  They have it all.   The bellowing clouds that rumble across the sky.  Flashes of powerful lightening behind them.  They clouds roll like waves in the ocean.   They seem to build and build and build and then BOOM, the lightening breaks through the sky and comes jolting down to the ground faster than you can blink with all it’s harnessed power.  Then the clouds open up and release its emotions down on the earth with rain or hail.  It’s a true witness to God’s presence.
Revelation Song is laid out like a great storm.  It starts off slow in the distance and then builds and builds and then it just explodes.  It paints such and amazing picture of God & His Glory.  Every time I hear it, I just want to raise my hands to God and jump up & down in praise.  It makes me want to leap into His loving arms and say thank you for Your unconditional love.

“The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands. Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they reveal knowledge.” (Psalm 19:1-2)

Seek God and you will find fulfillment of your deepest longings.  A life with God is filled with beautiful things that are meant to be pointers to Him.  They are reminders of His abiding Presence. The earth still declares His Glory to those who have eyes that see and ears that hear.
You use to have a darkened mind before you accepted Him wholeheartedly.   He chose to pour Light into you, so that you can be a beacon unto others.  There’s no room for worldly pride in your new position.   Your responsibility is to reflect God’s Glory…

“Look to the Lord and his strength; seek his face always.” (Psalm 105:4)

“See, darkness covers the earth and thick darkness is over the peoples, but the Lord rises upon you and his glory appears over you.” (Isaiah 60:2)

MY CHALLENGE PRAYER for YOU…    Search for God’s beauty that surrounds you today…

I hope you all have a TERRIFIC day…   Blessings & much love….D

ALWAYS…..

REVELATION SONG LYRICS

Worthy is the, Lamb who was slain
Holy, Holy, is He
Sing a new song, to him who sits on
Heaven’s mercy seat
Holy, Holy, Holy
Is the Lord God Almighty
Who was, and is, and is to come
With all creation I sing
Praise to the King of Kings
You are my everything
And I will adore You
Clothed in rainbows, of living color
Flashes of lightning, rolls of thunder
Blessing and honor, strength and glory and power be
to You the only wise King
Holy, Holy, Holy
Is the Lord God Almighty
Who was, and is, and is to come
With all creation I sing
Praise to the King of Kings
You are my everything
And I will adore You
Filled with wonder, awestruck wonder
At the mention of your name
Jesus your name is power
Breath, and living water
Such a marvelous mystery
Yeah…
Holy, Holy, Holy
Is the Lord God Almighty
Who was, and is, and is to come, yeah
With all creation I sing
Praise to the King of Kings
You are my everything
And I will adore You

Good Morning my friends, In Acts 21, Paul’s friends seemed to say this in resignation to his insistence he would go to Jerusalem.  Paul was convinced God’s will for him was to go to Jerusalem, through the forecasts were foreboding. … Continue reading

Faith, Family & Future

Good Morning my friends,
In Acts 9, Saul was radically saved. His conversion on the Damascus Road is still one of the greatest proofs of the reality of Christianity.   When Saul met Jesus and received his new FAITH, he had faith before but his now his new FAITH was different because it was in Jesus Christ.  Saul asks life’s two greatest questions: Who is Jesus? What does he want me to do?  Apostle
Paul spent the remainder of his life learning the answers to those two questions.  He learned that when you come to faith in Jesus Christ you get a new FAMILY.   Those that he had hated and persecuted prior became his new family.  “Brother Saul” must have filled his heart with joy because he was glad to be a part of the family of God.  His life held a new FUTURE . God began to shape and prepare the apostle Paul for his future work.  What a future he had and God has one for you as well.

“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you. And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart. And I will be found of you, saith the Lord: and I will turn away your captivity, and I will gather you from all the nations, and from all the places whither I have driven you, saith the Lord; and I will bring you again into the place whence I caused you to be carried away captive.” (‭Jeremiah‬ ‭29‬:‭11-14‬)

MY CHALLENGE PRAYER for YOU…    Ask the Lord that since he has saved you to now use you.
I hope you all have a FANTASTIC day…   Blessings & much love….D
