STEPHENVILLE — Dino Williams, 47, passed from this life to his heavenly abode on Thursday, Feb. 4, 2016, surrounded by family at his home in Stephenville.
Funeral: Dino’s life will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Willow Park Baptist Church, 129 S. Ranch House Road, Aledo, officiated by Dr. Clark Bosher. Interment: Private. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the church.
Memorials: In lieu of usual remembrances, the Williams family suggests contributions in Dino’s memory be made to his alma mater, Arlington Baptist College, 3001 West Division St., Arlington, Texas 76012 or Mission Hospice, 505 N. Ridgeway Drive, Suite 173, Cleburne, Texas 76033.
Jackie Dean “Dino” Williams Jr. was born Sept. 17, 1968 in, Fort Worth, son of Jackie Dean and Bonnie Marshall Williams. Dino married the former Keri Slaten on August 3, 1991 and together they reared two sons, Zachary, a student at Texas A&M, and Michael, a senior at Stephenville High School.
Dino graduated with the class of 1987 from Haltom High School and made his career with Greenleaf Wholesale Florist for 22 dedicated years of service. In his spare time, Dino liked to read and write and loved hot rods and street rods, a passion he inherited from his father. Dino was also passionate about football and attending football games with his sons. In addition to these pastimes, Dino had a ministry he started in 2012 called Last 24 Ministries. The motto was, “Live your life like it’s your LAST 24!!”
He was a member of Willow Park Baptist Church and just recently completed his degree at Arlington Baptist College.
The Williams family wishes to extend their heartfelt appreciation to Mission Hospice and Kayla Gill and Amber Anderson, who showed Dino genuine love and the best care he received since August 2012.
Dino was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, J.B. and Geraldine Williams; and maternal grandparents, John and Mattie Marshall.
Survivors: Wife, Keri Williams of Stephenville; sons, Zachary Williams and Michael Williams both of Stephenville; parents, Jack and Bonnie Williams of Poolville; sister, Tammy Milhorn and her husband, Danny, of Weatherford; nephew, Chris Addison and his wife, Danielle, of Weatherford; nieces, Brandi Addison of Weatherford and Amber Lee and husband, Ryan, of Grenada; great-nieces, Kylie, Alexa, and Hayleigh Addison; mother-in-law, Carole Slaten of Weatherford; and a host of loving family, friends, and church family.

Turn your eyes upon Jesus

Hello my friends, 

Our Pastor, Clark Bosher often speaks about his A.D.D.. He even says that his A.D.D. is so bad that he adds a few extra D.’s, as often as possible. I’ve always been amazed at how at a blink of an eye, my mind can go from one subject to another, back to the first and then on to 3 or 4 other things and then I be darned if it doesn’t repeat itself but only with new things. By the time it’s all said and done I have 8 or 9 things swirling around in my head.. I guess those are the joys and signs of having such a fruitful life. I’ve also learned that all can be tied together with one common factor. That common factor being my Lord Savior. For example, I use to sit on the couch reading Facebook or even just gatherings my thoughts for finding info my devotional message for the next day and my would wander to school, AppYea, Disciples of Thunder Conferences, Last 24 Ministries, Iron Men Retreat, church, Zakk’s college, Mick graduating and moving off to live with at College Station Zakk and not to mention my health.. Yes, that’s usually how it works. They’re all related to my Savior. AppYea is hopefully going to be a financial blessing that will allow us to invest in the Last 24 Ministries which will in turn, host The Disciple of Thunder Conferences which is part of the ministry that once I graduate from college, I can host small men church retreats that strengthen my walk with my Savior.   

Zakk is a gift from my Savior whom has been blessed with an amazing mind. After he graduates from Texas A & M he plans on pursuing a career in Hospital Administration. It’s ok for your mind to wander but to be certain that your focus remains on the Cross, your thoughts need to be tied to a place that glorifies Him. Remember we are a work in progress. He knows you’re not going to be perfect. If your mind slips, then just do your best to link your slip to the Cross while asking for help..

KEEP YOUR FOCUS ON JESUS. He gifted you with amazing freedom, including the ability to choose the focal point of your mind. Only the crown of His creation has such remarkable capabilities; this is a sign of being made in His image.  

Let the goal of this day be to bring every thought captive to Jesus. Whenever your mind wanders, lasso those thoughts and bring them into His Presence. In His radiant Light, anxious thoughts shrink and shrivel away. Judgmental thoughts are unmasked as you back in His unconditional Love. Confused ideas are untangled while you rest in the simplicity of His Peace. He will guard you and keep you in constant protection as you focus your mind on Him.

“You have made them a little lower than the angels and crowned them with glory and honor.” (Psalm “Then God said, “Let us make mankind in our images, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.” So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.” (Genesis 1:26-27)

“We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.”  (2 Corinthians 10:5)

“You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust. (Isaiah 26:3)

All DAY EVERYDAY

Hello my friends,
I try my best to my start my day off with a huge smile on my face and with one that has a huge distribution. At 3:45am, smiling usually isn’t an option on the morning radar especially on a Thursday morning. Most people find it hard enough waking up at 3:45am with a just smile. That is a tough enough task, but I view life in a different way.. Unlike most people. We all have the same options to be able to approach our days a lot different. We all have a choice to be miserable and make everyone around us miserable and make people hate being around us or we can choose to wake up smiling and attempt to bring joy to their day. I look at each day as if God granted me yet another opportunity to make a difference in someone’s life and it’s up to me to make the decision to make a difference. Will I make a difference? I can’t answer that but I can tell you that I definitely won’t if I don’t at least put forth the effort. It really doesn’t take a lot to make a difference in someone’s day.. A simple smile and a sweet good morning is a great way to start.   

     I often hear people say, “I’m just not a morning person…” or “I’m more of an afternoon person” or sometimes I hear, “I’m an evening person.” There’s 24 hrs in a day and you just eliminated 10 hrs of your day because you’re an “afternoon person.” Imagine the lives you could an impact if you chose to become an “ALL-DAY person!!” Think about all the things in your life that bring you joy. When you think about those you mean to tell me that those things don’t bring you enough joy to be an all-day person. If that’s the case then perhaps something is missing.. What could be missing in your life that you can’t find enough joy to be an all-day person??
   
 Today’s Scripture tells us about the fruit of the Spirit. They become even a greater part of your life after you come to faith. I loved my wife and my boys before I came to faith but now it’s different. My love for them has increased exponentially.. They brought joy to my life but now they bring so much more. The peace that I have as I approach and go through my day can not be described.. I can go on and on about how my life had changed for the better since I came to faith. How my spirit has increased and the desires of the world have decreased.  

In Galatians 5:22-26, Paul tells us, “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. And they that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another.“(Galatians 5:22-26)

Set Yourself Apart from the Crowd

Good Morning my friends,

“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the Lord. As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.” (Isaiah 55:8-9)

Jesus’ thoughts are not your thoughts; neither are your ways His ways. As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are His ways and thoughts higher than yours. Remember who He is when you spend time with Him. Be amazed at the wonder of being able to commune with the King of the universe at any time, any place. Never take this amazing privilege for granted. Although He is vastly higher and greater than you, He is training you to think His thoughts. As you spend time in His Presence, His thoughts will gradually form in your mind.  

I’ve often told my boys to strive to set themselves apart from the rest of the world with their actions. I explained that it’s easy to be the norm and do what others are doing but it takes courage to go against the grain. I told them not to try to blend in with the crowd but to do something that makes you different. I told them to be the leader of the pack not a follower in the pack. I quite often wonder if my thoughts, my ways & my words have even been heard at all.. It’s not like they’re profound words or anything like that but I believe that’s the recipe for success for young people today. As I preparing to write down my thoughts last night I couldn’t help but think about Jesus . His ways were different.. His thoughts were like no other and He was definitely a leader. His Spirit is the Director of bringing Bible verses to your mind, or He will enable you to hear Him “speak” directly to you. These ways of communications strengthen you and prepare you for whatever is before you on your life-path. Take time to listen to His voice. Through your sacrifice of precious time, Jesus will bless you far greater than you dare to ask.  

Jesus gave us instructions on how to live our life daily. He tells us in Matthew 5:16, “let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.”    

In Matthew 5:25, “Settle matters quickly with your adversary.” 

In Matthew 5:29-30, Jesus says, “If your right eye causes you to stumble, gouge it out, if your right hand causes you to stumble, cut it off, it is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to be thrown into hell.”

He tells us in Matthew 5:39-42, “do not resist an evil person. If anyone slaps you on the right cheek, turn to them the other cheek also. If anyone wants to sue you and take your shirt, hand over your coat as well. If anyone forces you to go one mile, go with them two miles. Give to the one who asks you, and do not turn away from the one who wants to borrow from you.”

In Matthew 5:44, He says “love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you.” 

Look for Jesus to send you thoughts & messages that appear at times & in places that the ordinary wouldn’t recognize and then embrace them. During your quiet moments when Jesus lays a Bible verse, hymn, or song of praise on your heart.. As believers you shouldn’t let those moments go to waste or take those times for granted. Those are the times that we should bask in the Glory of God. We should go directly to His Throne in prayer and give Him THANKS for the honor & glory for speaking directly to us…

“Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful.” (Colossians 4:2)

Duties of a DAD 

Good Morning my friends, 

Last night as I was trying to go to sleep I couldn’t help but think about my boys and how much that I love them. I looked back and remembered when Keri was pregnant with them, how I would read to them at night. Keri would be laying on the bed and I would read whatever book I was reading at the time as if they were laying there with us. I read books like “The Book of Virtues” by Willam J Bennett, Oliver North’s “Under Fire”, Norman J Swarzkoff’s “It Doesn’t take a Hero” & Jimmy Johnson’s “Turning the Thing Around”.   There were so many more. I made sure to talk to them every day and tell him how much I loved them and what all we were going to do once they were born. I wanted them to know my voice once they were born. To say that I was proud the day they were both born is understatement. My love for my boys runs so deep with in my heart that it goes beyond what any word I could ever describe. It began way before Keri & I got married and has continued to grow stronger with each passing day. How could I love something that wasn’t living? Let me explain. The love for my boys began on June 15th 1988.. That was the day my nephew Chris was born and the first time that I held him. At that moment I knew that some day I would have boys. Although Chris was’n’t mine, he does have part of my blood running through his veins because of my sister. It didn’t know if Chris’ biological father wasn’t in the picture and if he was I knew it wasn’t going to be long. I assumed the role & the duties of dad because I wanted him to be able to experience what it meant to have a dad.. I fed him, changed his diapers, played with him. We did everything together we possibly could. I took him to the mall, we went to McDonald’s. I bought him his first bike and taught him how to ride it. I played catch with him. I attended almost EVERY baseball game that he ever played in from T-ball thru high school. I have always treated him as if he was my son and still do to this day.  

“The Lord appeared to us in the past, saying: “I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with unfailing kindness.” (Jeremiah 31:3)

One of the things that I’ve always tried to do is teach my boys that in life, we often get caught up in the extra-curriculars thins in like both the good & bad. We let the joys & thrill of the moment gather up our attention. When we allow things like that to happen, we lose focus of the fact that our eternal future is at stake. I tell them often that the choices that they make now here on earth will have way more of an impact & consequences in eternity than they will ever have while they’re here on earth.. Our eternal future is forever. Our Father loves us way more than we deserve and could ever imagine. God spells it out for us in John 3:16, “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” My friends the Bible says WHOSOEVER.. That means EVERYONE… When I think about the love I have for my boys, it fails in comparison to the love our Father has for his children. I can’t imagine letting one of my boys die for me let alone someone else.  

God loves you with an everlasting Love, which flows from the depths of eternity. Before you were born, He knew you. Think about the awesome mystery of a Love that encompasses you from before birth to beyond the grave. His love was a lot different than my love for my boys. Modern man lost the perspective of eternity. He has allowed the joys & frills of society to distract himself from the gaping jaws of death, he has turned to the world to find the joy & peace that he’s missing. When you try to be still in His Presence it’s like a lost art, yet it’s the very stillness that enables you to experience His eternal Love. You need the certainty of His loving Presence in order to weather the storms of life. During the times of severe testing, even the best theology can fail. The ultimate protection against sinking during life’s storms is devoting time to develop your friendship with Jesus.

Because of the Lord ’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. I say to myself, “The Lord is my portion; therefore I will wait for him.” The Lord is good to those whose hope is in him, to the one who seeks him; it is good to wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord .” (Lamentations 3:22-26)

Jesus’ Unfailing Love

Good Morning my friends,

It doesn’t seem possible that it was 3 years ago that Keri & I took our oldest son Zakk down to Texas A & M University for a campus tour. We’ve watched patiently on the sidelines as he’s grown into a young man that made us beyond proud. As we walked the campus of A & M, we couldn’t help but think that this time next year he would be completing his first semester as an Aggie. That in August he would be moving out of our house and into a dorm. As those thoughts crowded our mind and a huge lump gathered in our throats, thankfully the wind was blowing because our eyes were already watering but I couldn’t help but think about how much I was going to miss his endless bombardment of jokes, different voices, faces, & overall gentle nature. He has grown into a young man full of beliefs, ideas, opinions, great character, integrity and high morals & values. I must admit, there have been times that I’ve wondered if he even listened..  

“Let them give thanks to the Lord for his unfailing love and his wonderful deeds for mankind. Let them sacrifice thankful offerings and tell of his works with songs of joy.” (Psalm 107:21-22)

I remember as we drove home after touring the campus, we talked at length about what this means. I explained to him that this is only the beginning of a new journey in his life and this journey would lead him into the remainder of his life. I told him the importance of every decision that he makes while in college could effect this journey which in turn could effect his future. I conveyed to him that if he makes the right decisions now and sacrifices the time now that he would never have a worries or headaches in life. I reminded him that most importantly that it was God that would bless him and that brought him to A & M and as long as he remained focused on Him, remained thankful to Him with ALL things & gave Him ALL the Honor, Praise & Glory while he’s there that God will continue to bless him abundantly. 

“Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.” (1 Peter 5:7)

While walking the sidewalks of A & M, with a lump in my throat & tears in my eyes, I thanked God for my many blessings including the lump & tears… I thanked Him for loving me way more than I could ever imagine and for bringing me comfort when my thoughts, biggest fears & anxiety would take control in the next year. I also thanked Him when it was time to drive away & let Zakk start his journey.   It hurt my heart but I knew deep inside it was something I had to do..
Rest in the deep assurance of Jesus’ unfailing Love.   Let your body, mind and spirit relax in His Presence. Release into His care anything that is troubling you, so that you can focus your full attention on Him. Be awed by the vast dimensions of His Love for you: wider, longer, higher, and deeper than anything you know. Rejoice that this marvelous Love is yours forever! The best response to this glorious gift is a life steeped in gratefulness. Every time you are grateful towards Him, you acknowledge that He is your Lord and Savior. This is the perfect way for a child of God. Receiving with gratefulness. Bring Jesus the sacrifice of gratitude, and watch to see how much He blesses you.  

“I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.” (Ephesians 3:16-19)

MY CHALLENGE PRAYER for YOU… Be grateful that He is your Lord & Savior and if He’s not then do something about it.
