A Resting Faith

It Good Morning my friends,

It’s Friday but SUNDAY’S COMING!!!

Dwight L. Moody loved to point out that there are three kinds of faith in Jesus Christ: struggling faith, which is like a man floundering and fearful in deep water; clinging faith, which is like a man hanging to the side of the boat; and resting faith, which finds a man safe inside the boat secure enough to reach out his hand to help someone else. Each man had faith and each knew that the boat was his only hope, but only one had a resting faith. Only one had discovered that he could actually be in the boat where all he had to do was rest.

Why do we make make things so difficult? I would hate to know that I was going through this battle with cancer without faith. Yet, so many people make that choice. They make the choice everyday to live without faith and put their trust in the the things of the world. I can remember living in the world of shame, where I desperate to find that one thing that was missing in their life. Along it was right in front me telling me to “come on.” Instead I searched for it in work, in money, in materialism, in alcohol, in marijuana, in other drugs, and in flirting.

“Because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance.”  (James 1:3)

People will NEVER find what they’re missing in your life as long as they’re searching for it in worldly things. What they’re missing comes not from this world but instead a much GREATER source. In order to be complete they you must seek to be made whole by God. They must put their faith in Him and turn their back to the world and what it has to offer. The Bible tells us in Hebrews 11:1 that, “faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” Faith comes from within.. You must believe it your heart, mind & soul.. Resting faith is the kind of faith God desires for you. It’s a faith that trusts Him totally. There are times that we discover its reality only after we have endured a struggling or clinging faith. Sometimes we realize that we can only get in the boat when the storm rages and we cry out to God with new faith. You don’t have to continue struggle in the deep waters of the world.. Then our Savior graciously extends His hand and says, “Come to Me and I will give you rest.” (Matthew 11:28)

MY CHALLENGE PRAYER for YOU… Put your faith in God and let Him give you rest.

I hope you all have a FANTASTIC day.. Blessings & much love….D

ALWAYS…..Live YOUR life like it’s your LAST 24!!!
