The Clouds of Life

Good Morning my friends,

It’s Friday but SUNDAY’S COMING!!!

Clouds will come and clouds will go. They’re a part of life but with God’s grace we don’t have to be depressed by them. Clouds protect us from heat of the sun and the clouds of life reveal God’s glory and this is where God will speak to you. When the children of Israel were traveling to the Promised Land, they traveled through the wilderness, the Bible says, “The Lord went before them by day in a pillar of cloud to lead the way.” Most of you know that I am passing through a wilderness right now with my cancer spreading but you may be experiencing a different wilderness like a troubled marriage, financial problems, a major disappointment, or maybe you are experiencing some health issues. God is with you in the wilderness, and He goes before you in the wilderness, and He goes before you to encourage and guide you. He brought the children of Israel through the desert wilderness and He will bring you and I through ours as well, but we have to look in faith to Him.

“He is the living God, and steadfast forever” (Daniel 6:26)

I’ve been ask several times how I decide what to write about.. When I first started 3 years ago I used Jesus Calling Daily Devotional and then I would about an experience in life, or a thought that just came to my mind after reading the devotional. Once I made it through the whole year of Jesus Calling, I started doing the same with Billy Graha’s Devotional. This book is different in that it has a morning & evening devotional. I would usually read the title, then look at the scripture he used and then read the first paragraph of each.  By just doing that I usually knew which one that I was being lead to chose. There was a few times I couldn’t decide, so I would read them both in their entirety and then pray for a gentle nudge from the Holy Spirit.  Now I just write what comes to mind and then add scripture that fits.

There are days that I can’t help but think that there’s someone out there that’s reads my devotional that is in the midst of a trial and ready to give up. If that’s you please don’t. Send me a message and let me know so we can talk about it and I can pray for you. I’ve been in the exact place where you probably find yourself and let me tell hitting rock bottom is no fun. But the most amazing thing about being there is that there’s only one direction you can go and that is up. When you’re at your lowest of lows, that’s the perfect place to be when you make the decision to submit to the Will of God and start living for Him. You’ve tried it your way and it’s not working out for you… There’s no magic pill that can prescribed to you that will give you the love, the joy, the happiness or the peace that God will bring to you and your life. Prescription drugs only mask your problems and are a temporary fix. There’s no amount of alcohol or drugs that you can consume that will give forbearance, kindness or goodness that God will bring to you in your life. Those things will only create problems for you and in your life. There’s no amount of sex, pornography, or flirtation that can give you faithfulness, gentleness, or self control that God will place in your life. God can fill EVERY void that you have in your life. He will fix your depression, He will fix your ailments, He will deliver you from your strongholds, and He will restore your life and make it complete and worthwhile.

“By day the Lord went ahead of them in a pillar of cloud to guide them on their way and by night in a pillar of fire to give them light, so that they could travel by day or night.” (Exodus 13:21)

MY CHALLENGE PRAYER for YOU… Stop doing it your way and let a God take the reigns.

I hope you all have a FANTASTIC day.. Blessings & much love….D

ALWAYS…..Live YOUR life like it’s your LAST 24!!!

  1. Dino, thank you for your post today. My family is going through very sad times, but you, incredible clarity at this time in your life. I love your posts each day! I told you before, l was married to your dad’s buddy from high school, Phillip Cottrell. Well, our daughter, Cherie Cottrell, adopted two boys, the youngest has so many issues. Gage is full of anger and rage. He is only 11yrs old and he is going off to a residential facility for the second time. Fox, is the older boy 14yrs old, has been brutalized by Gage, sent to the ER for stitches, many other very scary attacks not just to Fox, but also to Cherie. I could go on but I won’t. His birth mother was a drug user… Dino, if you could please pray for Gage, and all of the people who love him! I think of you and pray for you daily. Love Sue (Pruitt) Cottrell
