Backsliding Christians

Good Morning my friends,

It’s Friday but SUNDAY’S COMING!!!

SATAN REJOICES when a Christian falls off the narrow path!!!

I’ve often posted about protecting yourself from falling off the narrow path. Protect yourself through prayer, reading of God’s Holy Word, studying His Word, getting involved in church and surrounding yourself with like minded people. When you do these things it guards you against peer pressure and the enemy that lurks in today’s society.

Praying can change your life.. It changes your life because it brings you into God’s presence. It puts Him at your finger tips.. When you pray to God, you should first humble yourself and then cry out. When praying, your should get raw and confess your sins and ask for forgiveness. The Bible says, “You have not because you ask not.. ” Don’t be impatient… Remember it’s God’s Will not yours…

When you read God’s Holy Word, it will also change you. It changes you because what you put in your mind-goes in your heart and what goes in your heart-comes out of your mouth. It reminds me of the old saying, garbage in, garbage out.. When you fill your mind with filth, you will spew nothing but dirt…

Studying God’s Word allows you to do many things. Most important, it gives you the sword of the Spirit which allows you to defend yourself against Satan and His attacks. When Jesus had been fasting for 40 days, He was tempted by Satan telling Him that If He’s the Son of God then “turn these rocks into bread.” Jesus replied, “Man shall not live by bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.” Jesus defeated Satan with Scripture and that is same you defeat him too.. Learning His Word also draws you closer to God.. It builds confidence..

Attending church keeps you accountable.. It’s keeps you grounded. It feeds your soul which in turn fuels your eternal flame.. Church is where you find like minded people. When you surround yourself with like minded people, you don’t have to worry about them influencing you in a worldly way, on the other hand after you have come to faith if you continue to run in the same circles and hangout with the same worldly loving people then you will fail. No matter how strong you think you are, you are not strong enough to play games with the devil.

“Therefore tell the people: This is what the Lord Almighty says: ‘Return to me,’ declares the Lord Almighty, ‘and I will return to you,’ says the Lord Almighty.” (Zechariah 1:3)

The word backsliding isn’t used as much as it used be but in reality it’s still with us. A sincere Christian begins to “slide backward” in their faith, returning to their old ways and acting as if Jesus no longer means anything to them. Why does this happen? It happens because sometimes their faith was never real. They never committed their lives to Jesus Christ in the first place.

Backsliding also happens to true believers and when it does, Satan rejoices. Sometimes old habits creep back into their life and then overwhelm them. They cave in to the pressure of the crowd or maybe temptation lures them into sin. Whatever the reason, a backsliding Christian compromises their faith and causes unbelievers to mock the Gospel. The good news is that God loves even the backslider and stands ready to forgive. Guard yourself against sliding backward in your faith. If something happens and you do, don’t stay that way. Return to God immediately and He will return to you.

“See to it, brothers, that none of you has a sinful, unbelieving heart that turns away from the living God” (Hebrews 3:12)

MY CHALLENGE PRAYER for YOU… Protect yourself and implement these 5 things..

I hope you all have a FANTASTIC day.. Blessings & much love….D

ALWAYS…..Live YOUR life like it’s your LAST 24!!!
