Triumph Over Tragedy

 Good Morning my friends,

Why does bad things happen to good people? This is a question that I see asked often; in fact I’ve asked the same question myself a time or two. I’m not going to sit here and act like I have all the answers because I don’t. But I do have thoughts. Inherently when it comes down to where the rubber meets the road, man is not good. Man is only good in the eyes of man and when we ask that question we’re taking it to a whole new level. A level in which only God plays on. Man chose sin over the perfection God had placed in his life and because of that bad things happen. We can sit here and be a Monday morning quarterback and talk about how dumb Adam & Eve where to choose sin over what God had placed in their life but in reality we choose sin over God every day.

“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD.” (Isaiah 55:8)

In order to understand tragedy, you must first understand its source. Death and pain and every other tragedy came into this world because of sin. When Adam and Eve sinned in the Garden of Eden, they weren’t just doing something God had told them not to do. It was a blatant, open act of rebellion. A rebellion in thought, word, and deed against the God who made them and had supplied their every need. It was them saying God was a liar and believing Satan instead. It was them yielding to the temptation because they wanted to “be like God” (Genesis 3:5)

Every graveyard, every hospital, every prison, every courtroom is a witness to the terrible legacy of that rebellion. Evil happens in this world because we are sinful people living in an evil world. We should never underestimate the devastating effects of sin. Sin’s greatest tragedy was the cross because had it not been for sin, Jesus would never have had to die. Christ triumphed over tragedy so that we could because of Him.

“Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights,” (James 1:17)

MY CHALLENGE PRAYER for YOU..   Let the blood of Jesus triumph over your sin..

I hope you all have a MAGNIFICENT day.. Blessings & much love….D
