Good Morning my friends,
As parents we get frustrated with our kids when they seem to question our judgement or advice. We tell them how to handle a situation from our own experiences; we give them wise advice since we’ve been there done that, yet most of the time it’s as if our advice goes in one ear and out the other. We shake our head in frustration. I wonder if God does the same thing at us? He gives us insight or direction and we often ignore Him because we want to do it our way. He gives us a gentle nudge saying perhaps you should do this BUT instead you choose to have “fun” and live worldly. Guys has the Holy Spirit ever nudge you when you’re at home alone and surfing the Internet? Has God ever blessed you with direction but when you saw the flashy lights, all the people and the circus big top you chose the broader path. God doesn’t get frustrated with you and give up but instead He continues to show His love and patience for us. He lets us go down that path and experience those flashy lights, and be around all those people and go inside the big top and waits for you to call out to Him. God just wants our trust like we want our kids to trust us..
“How precious also are thy thoughts unto me, O God! how great is the sum of them!” (Psalms 139:17)
How happy would parents be if their child constantly questioned them about whether his or her needs were being met? I’m sure parents would feel frustrated, sad and in all likelihood perhaps even angry that the child did not trust them. The Bible has many references telling us how much it pleases God for us to trust Him for all our needs. The Roman soldier expressed great faith when he told Jesus just to “say the word” and his servant would be healed (Matthew 8:8). Jesus told His disciples, “Look at the birds…they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your Heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?” (Matthew 6:26) God values our trust in Him above all other character quality. We strengthen our trust in God by spending time in God’s presence, by praying, by worshipping, and reading His Word. We develop trust also as we step out in faith and discover that God really can be trusted.
“Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.” (Proverbs 3:5-6)
MY CHALLENGE PRAYER for YOU…. Step out in faith and trust God..
I hope you all have a FANTASTIC day… Blessings and much love….D
