God’s Plan

Good Morning my friends,

One of the things that I’ve had to do is to learn to slow down and be patient when it comes to God’s and His plans. I have a tendency to get impatient and and try to control things according to what I want. God placed Disciples of Thunder on my heart over five years ago. I thought my foundation was solid so I was ready to charge full-steam ahead. I couldn’t have been further from the truth. Little did I know that the next 18 months would reveal something much different. My life went from the mountain top to the midst of hell in a blink of an eye. When it was all said & done, my decisions allowed God to reveal that my walk was not on a solid foundation and it needed to be fix.

I solidified my foundation with His Son Jesus Christ and decided that I would allow Him to guide me through this world. I gave Him the reigns of my life and settled myself in the passenger seat. Today, I do my very best to let Him guide and direct my every step. There are still occasions when I try to gather the reigns and try to take a different path but He reels me in and says to me, “My Way is better lets turn around and go back.” I love the fact that we have a God of chances and one that refuses to give up. I might not like the speed we’re going.. I might not like the situation I’m in. Sometime I might think God has closed His eyes and looked away. One day I will be able to look back and see why.. I will then smile and remember that God’s plan was perfect..

“As for God, his way is perfect: The Lord ’s word is flawless; he shields all who take refuge in him.” (Psalm 18:30)

Things didn’t always work out the way the apostle Paul planned. Paul was expecting to preach in Asia Minor but he was “forbidden by the Holy Spirit. Instead Paul found himself thrown in prison. Paul was encouraged by the response to the gospel he had received in Thessalonica and was suddenly assailed by a mob and accused of having “turned the world upside down”. As a result he was forced to flee. In every instance God was in control. Paul was forbidden to preach in Asia Minor–because God was opening the door to Europe. Paul found himself in jail-and as a result the Philippian jailer and his family were converted. Paul had to flee Thessalonica–and Berea. the next town. Things don’t always work out the way we plan. But if we commit our way to God and walk in obedience to Him, we discover His plans are always better.

MY CHALLENGE PRAYER for YOU… Commit your way to God and let Him show you His plans for your life.

I hope you all have a WONDERFUL day.. Blessings & much love….D

ALWAYS…..Live YOUR life like it’s your LAST 24!!!

Angry Words Cut Deep

Good Morning my friends!!!

“Anybody can become angry — that is easy, but to be angry with the right person and to the right degree and at the right time and for the right purpose, and in the right way — that is not within everybody’s power and is not easy.” ― Aristotle

There’s been many times during my & Keri’s 24+ years of marriage that my words have hurt her. They have cut her deeply and the scars that those words caused are visible. It’s really shame that us guys aren’t given a book when we turn 13 on how to communicate with a female. Instead we are thrown out into the world and left to learn on our own or we are left to learn from the role model in our home which most of the time is of little value.. I’m not bashing fathers by no means because they’re just a product of their upbringing but to break the cycle men must be willing to admit they’re at fault, be willing to change and then do it.
Most of the time when we’re angry, we have the tendency to lash out verbally. We say things that we don’t mean but we know will intentionally hurt. That’s why God doesn’t like anger… Anger makes us lose what little control we have… Why do we get angry? I’m speaking about relationships (husband & wife) but this applies to pretty much any situation. People have the get angry when they hear the truth but it comes at a time when it’s not what we really want to hear. Many times they get angry when they’re caught in a lie or caught doing something wrong. If in a situation of such, if a person is not doing something wrong their normal reaction will not be of anger.

“For as churning cream produces butter, and as twisting the nose produces blood, so stirring up anger produces strife.” (Proverbs 30:33)

Why does God take anger so seriously and urge us to cast it out of our lives?
One reason is because of what it does to other people. We lash out at people in anger, we hurt them and create conflict with them, and that is wrong. God loves them just as much as He loves us, and when our anger hurts someone, we are harming someone God loves.

God also hates our anger because of what is does to us. Our anger cuts us off from others; no one likes to be around someone that might explode at any moment. Anger also hurts us by turning us into resentful, bitter, unloving people. Most of all, anger cuts us off from God, because anger makes us preoccupied with our own problems rather than with God’s will for our lives.

MY CHALLENGE PRAYER for YOU… Seek God to release the bitterness and anger you have in your life..

I hope you all have a TERRIFIC day.. Blessings & much love….D

ALWAYS…..Live YOUR life like it’s your LAST 24!!!

Triumph Over Tragedy

 Good Morning my friends,

Why does bad things happen to good people? This is a question that I see asked often; in fact I’ve asked the same question myself a time or two. I’m not going to sit here and act like I have all the answers because I don’t. But I do have thoughts. Inherently when it comes down to where the rubber meets the road, man is not good. Man is only good in the eyes of man and when we ask that question we’re taking it to a whole new level. A level in which only God plays on. Man chose sin over the perfection God had placed in his life and because of that bad things happen. We can sit here and be a Monday morning quarterback and talk about how dumb Adam & Eve where to choose sin over what God had placed in their life but in reality we choose sin over God every day.

“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD.” (Isaiah 55:8)

In order to understand tragedy, you must first understand its source. Death and pain and every other tragedy came into this world because of sin. When Adam and Eve sinned in the Garden of Eden, they weren’t just doing something God had told them not to do. It was a blatant, open act of rebellion. A rebellion in thought, word, and deed against the God who made them and had supplied their every need. It was them saying God was a liar and believing Satan instead. It was them yielding to the temptation because they wanted to “be like God” (Genesis 3:5)

Every graveyard, every hospital, every prison, every courtroom is a witness to the terrible legacy of that rebellion. Evil happens in this world because we are sinful people living in an evil world. We should never underestimate the devastating effects of sin. Sin’s greatest tragedy was the cross because had it not been for sin, Jesus would never have had to die. Christ triumphed over tragedy so that we could because of Him.

“Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights,” (James 1:17)

MY CHALLENGE PRAYER for YOU..   Let the blood of Jesus triumph over your sin..

I hope you all have a MAGNIFICENT day.. Blessings & much love….D

ALWAYS…..Live YOUR life like it’s your LAST 24!!!

Discouragement & Frustration

Good Morning my friends,

It’s Friday but SUNDAY’S COMING!!!

“Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.”  (Psalm 27:14)

The last few months have been very difficult for me to swallow. I’ve watched all the progress that I made in physical therapy from May to July slowly fade away into the abyss all because a lack of competence from a Ft Worth company that specializes in braces and prosthetics. To make a long story short they failed to listen to their customer. So after 2 1/2 months they were fired and a new one was hired and the process began all over.

In the meantime, what I lost was far outweighed by what I gained. Lost daily progress has been replaced by pain that comes to visit my everyday for most of the day. Some days are worse than others but needless to say, my friend pain and I have become “friends.” Lost with my strength also was the ability to perform daily task that most take for granted. I guess you could say, it’s hard for me to swallow because I was use to doing whatever I wanted.

I’m reminded daily that no matter how bad I have it, there’s always someone that is having a more difficult time than me. I’m still blessed to have someone by my side that can assist me in the task that I’m not strong enough to do. I don’t get discouraged but I do get frustrated.

What about you do you get discouraged or frustrated by life?

Perhaps you aren’t making enough money or you not convinced that God can supply your needs? Are your frustrated with something in your life that you refuse to believe God can help you be content? Are you worried about other things and don’t even stop and consider that your life could be in God’s hands? Those are tough questions to answer when you don’t have a firm relation with God.

Discouragement and frustration can be like a large cloud that never moves from above you. Those clouds obscure the warmth and joy that the sun provides. In the case of spiritual discouragement and frustration, the cloud eclipses the Son of God in our lives.

Discouragement and frustration is Satan’s devise to thwart the work of God in our lives. It blinds your eyes to the mercy of God and makes you perceive only the unfavorable circumstances that you’re currently facing. The only one way to dispel discouragement and frustration is not by your own strength or ingenuity. It’s by turning to your faith in God, believing that He loves you and is in control.

The Bible says, “Wait on The Lord….and He shall strengthen your heart.”

MY CHALLENGE PRAYER for YOU……. Wait on the Lord and He shall strengthen your heart.

I hope you all have a FANTASTIC day.. Blessings & much love….D

ALWAYS…..Live YOUR life like it’s your LAST 24!!!

A Mighty Foundation

Good Morning my friends,

I often see and hear people in our society define the Bible as a book of fables or the story of a mystic god that try’s to rule over people but they won’t let him and they stand up to him. When I read their words like this, I shake my head in disbelief and say, “if you only knew my God.” The Bible is much more than anyone could ever define. It isn’t just a good book and it’s better than any of the great books that have been written. It’s God’s Word that was given to us by God to tell us about Himself.

Peter declared, “We did not follow cunningly devised fables…for prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit” (2 Peter 1:16, 21)

Paul stressed, “All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness” (2 Timothy 3:16)

There have been many great leaders that made the Bible their guide. The greatest in my time was the late Ronald Reagan and he stated, “Within the covers of the Bible are the answers for all the problems men face.”

Let the Bible be your firm foundation. Let it be the staff of life that nourishes your soul. Let it be the Sword of the Spirit that cuts away sin. I once heard Billy Graham say, “Sin will keep you from God’s Word or God’s Word will keep your from sin.”

“Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.” (Psalms 119:11)

MY CHALLENGE PRAYER for YOU……. Make the Bible the foundation of your life….

I hope you all have a TERRIFIC day.. Blessings & much love….D

ALWAYS…..Live YOUR life like it’s your LAST 24!!!

Perfection Lost

Good Morning my friends,

It’s is amazing how man continues to chose sin over living in harmony of God’s Word. I know that we can’t live in perfect harmony as God had wanted “in the beginning” but to blatantly turn your back on God’s Word to maintain at peace with society is mind blowing. As I read, study and learn more and more of God’s Word, it’s remarkable how God has given man chance after chance to come to their senses and change from their evil ways. God finally made it easy for us when He sent His son Jesus Christ to die once the cross for our sins. It is now up to us to just CHOOSE Him.

“God saw all that he had made, and it was very good.”(Genesis 1:31)

“Why would God say the world is good when so much of it is obviously imperfect or even evil?”

After God created the world, He said it was perfect, because He had made it the exact way He wanted it to be. He then pronounced His creation of man “very good” but that was before Satan tempted Adam and Eve and the world was invaded by sin. The world was indeed a perfect place before Adam and Eve chose to believe Satan’s lies instead of God’s truth. Adam and Eve had everything they needed. They walked in perfect harmony with God-until they turned their backs on Him. Instantly sin took root in the human heart like a deadly cancer. Even the plants and animals became ravaged by sin and death. The Bible tells us, however that this sin sick fallen world won’t last forever. At the end of time, God will intervene and the new Heaven and new Earth that He will create will be free from all evil and pain.
Come quickly, Lord Jesus!

“For, behold, I create new heavens and a new earth: and the former shall not be remembered, nor come into mind.” (Isaiah 65:17)

MY CHALLENGE PRAYER for YOU….. Chose to love and walk with God

I hope you all have a WONDERFUL day.. Blessings & much love….D

ALWAYS…..Live YOUR life like it’s your LAST 24!!!

God’s Promise

Good Morning my friends

I think sometimes people forget or are confused when it comes to salvation. People think because they did something nice or good that because of their good deed and they get all fuzzy inside and think that helps them get to heaven. People get consumed with performing “good deeds” or “acts of kindness” and the warm feeling it creates inside instead of focusing on the cross.

You can forget about your feelings when you come to know Christ because you’re not saved by your feelings; you’re saved by Christ. Your feelings will come and go; but Christ will always remain. The facts are the only thing that matters and the fact is Jesus Christ died for your sins and rose again. If you have committed your life to Him, He has promises to forgive you and save you. The Bible says, “God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son has life.” (1 John 5:11-12)

It is God’s promise to you and He cannot lie. Your feelings will lie and Satan may even use your feelings to convince you that God has abandoned you or that you have lost your salvation. But remember: “There is no truth in Satan. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies.” (John 8:44). Your faith is based on God’s truth not your feelings!

“Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith.” (Hebrews 10:22)

MY CHALLENGE PRAYER for YOU……. Embrace the cross and invite Jesus into your heart..

I hope you all have a TERRIFIC day.. Blessings & much love….D

ALWAYS…..Live YOUR life like it’s your LAST 24!!!
