Seek The Lord While He Can Be Found

Good Morning my friends,

Some people claim to be disappointed with God.. Saying, “If He really cared about me, I wouldn’t have so many problems. But since He doesn’t do anything about them, why should I bother with Him.” As a result they go through life without ever knowing God or giving Him His rightful place. The problem with this attitude is that most of the time these people have never made an effort to seek God or to find His answers to their problems. Instead of actively seeking Him, they passively expect Him to come to their aid without any effort on their part. They flat ignore Jesus’ words, “Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: (Matthew 7:7). If you have never trusted Christ for your salvation, don’t sit back and wait for better time to accept Him; that moment may never come. If you do know Christ and are struggling with some problem or decision, don’t try to solve it on your own. Commit it to God and seek His will without delay.

“Seek ye the Lord while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near.”  (Isaiah 55:6)

My CHALLENGE PRAYER for YOU….. Don’t try to solve your difficulty on your own but instead seek & trust God…

I hope you all have a MAGNIFICENT day… Blessings and much love….D

God Hates Sin

Good Morning my friends,

We live in an age where sin is winked at and God is treated as indulgent, tolerant of those who break His commandments. People today find it difficult to believe that God hated anything, including sin. The image many people have of Him is of a rather senile old grandfather who shakes his head in amusement when his grandchildren misbehave. God is very aware of sin, although some may pretend it doesn’t exist. God hates sin, because He loves us, and He knows the terrible devastation sin brings to our lives. Sin is like a deadly cancer, inexorably leaving suffering and death in its wake. Left unforgiven, sin also sends men and women into an eternity apart from God–into Hell. God hates sin, because He hates what it does to us! Confess your sin today. Don’t wait. Receive God’s forgiveness and restoration so that you might be of use to Him and enjoy His love forever.

“I acknowledged my sin unto thee, and mine iniquity have I not hid.” (Psalms 32:5)

MY CHALLENGE PRAYER for YOU…. Repent and receive forgiveness & restoration today

I hope you all have a SUPER day… Blessings and much love….D

ALWAYS…..Live YOUR life like it’s your LAST 24!!

In God’s Hands

Good Morning my friends,

It’s Friday but SUNDAY’S COMING!!!

I close my devotion each day with ALWAYS Live YOUR life like it’s your LAST 24!!m I’m chose to close my devotion with those few words because I want to make people think about the choices they make daily. Can you imagine how nice the world would be if we knew the date that Jesus was going to return? More people would be opening doors for others. More people would let people ahead of them while in merging heavy traffic. More people would give that homeless person at the red light their last couple of dollars in their wallet. More people would say please and thank you. Husbands would be more loving & attentive to their wife and kids. Men would choose to go to lunch at Chili’s instead Hooters or Redneck Heaven. The choices that people make as they draw closer to that day would become more divine & righteous. Churches would over flow. Sunday School classes would be packed. I am saddened that the world we live in is like this. I am saddened that I described the actions of some of my friends. I am saddened that people/friends don’t realize that this indeed could be their LAST 24 but will still live today according to their own desires & will. My friends we’re not guaranteed tomorrow or even this evening you need to live it glorifying your Heavenly Father…

“As no one has power over the wind to contain it, so no one has power over the time of their death.(Ecclesiastes 8:8)

Ultimately, our lives are in God’s hands. Even the next breath you take is a gift from Him. If He was to withdraw His hand from you, your life would end in and instant, despite the most strenuous efforts from your doctors. The psalmist said it well: “When you take away their breath, they die and return to the dust” (Psalms 104:29). What difference should this make? First, it should remind us of our dependence on God. All too often we assume that our lives and our futures are in our hands. But they aren’t; they’re in His hands. He gave us life, and someday He will bring our time on Earth to an end. This should also remind us that each day is a gift from God-a gift to be used wisely, joyfully, and for His glory. This gift of life should remind us of an even greater gift-the gift of eternal life in Christ. Thank God for the gift of today and for the gift of eternal life that awaits us in Heaven.

“And as it is appointed unto men once to die.” (Hebrews 9:27)

My CHALLENGE PRAYER for YOU… Choose to live each day like its your LAST 24..

I hope you all have a FANTASTIC day.. Blessings & much love….D

For When I Am Weak, Then I Am Strong

Good Morning my friends,

One of the lessons I’ve learned in the three years is that the darkest challenges, the most difficult lessons, the most troublesome trials or the hardest situations hold the greatest gifts for the opportunity of Spiritual Growth.

Early this morning when I was reading through my Scripture for the day a huge lump gathered in my throat, a large knot formed in my stomach, a big tug yanked on my heart and my eyes wailed up with tears because I knew exactly what the apostle Paul was saying. I couldn’t help but think about these last three years and the highs and lows I’ve experienced. I’ve been at some very weak moments and instead of trying to endure them myself, I put my ego aside and gathered my hardships together and lifted them up to my Almighty Savior and ask Him to give me the type of strength & grace that He had when He endured His crucifixion. I cried out to God and confessed that I knew that I was weak and that I needed the type of strength my Savior had to face my small challenges in comparison that were ahead of me. I prayed fervently daily for God’s will to be done and for Him to prepare my path to walk down. Each time when it was time for me to face my challenges God has blessed me with the strength, confidence and grace to embraced my hardship and smile and say that everything is going to be ok because “for when I am weak, then I am strong.”

“That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.”                                     (2 Corinthians 12:10)

Look carefully at that Scripture written by the apostle Paul. Doesn’t that seem like a contradiction? After all, how can you be strong if you are weak?

But it isn’t a contradiction-not in God’s eyes. Paul was stating a very important truth: when we attempt to do God’s work in our own strength instead God’s strength, we will fail. It’s ONLY when we acknowledge our weakness and look to the Holy Spirit for the wisdom and strength that we need will God bless our efforts.

Perhaps you teach a class of young people in your church……or someone has come to you with a problem…..or you are thinking about volunteering for a Summer mission project… or you children are starting to ask questions about God. How will you do and what needs to be done? Yes, you will study and work diligently; trusting God for the outcome doesn’t mean that we sit back and do nothing. But only God can work in the hearts of those who are seeking to help. Confess your weakness to Him and trust Him to work through you-today and always.

My CHALLENGE PRAYER…. Don’t try to handle your hardships alone. Call out and confess your weakness to Him and trust that He will walk with you through it.

I hope you all have a TREMENDOUS day.. Blessings & much love….D

ALWAYS…..Live YOUR life like it’s your LAST 24!!

An Adventurous Little Boy

Good Morning my friends,

God said to Moses, “I am who I am. This is what you are to say to the Israelites: ‘I am has sent me to you.” (Exodus 3:14)

As a little boy let’s just say for grins that Tom Sawyer & Huckleberry Finn had nothing on me. I was just as curious & adventurous. One of the many stories my mom loves to tell is when my dad worked at Montgomery Ward on 7th St.. One day my mom, sister and me had been shopping and we wanted to go see my dad at work. He worked on the 2nd or 3rd floor in electronics. As mom & dad were standing talking mom of course was holding my hand as she always had to do. She says I began to fret & squirm as I always did because I wanted to be independent. I told her I just wanted to watch tv. As she let go she warned me to sit there and just watch tv. She said only a few seconds had passed and she looked down & I was gone. They both scrambled looking for me. But I was no-where to be found. They searched the whole floor. As panic set in they went to the next floor and started searching it. By this time there were several people searching for me. They made it down to appliances and my dad asked on of the reps there if he had seen me and he said that he saw me walk pass headed outside for lawn & garden. They headed outside and there I was sitting on the riding mowers having a blast. Hey I wanted to play on the riding lawn mowers.

I tell this story for this reason. Many times as Christians we do the same thing to God. We walk hand & hand with Him and we begin to squirm & fret when we see worldly “FUN”. He tightens His grip because He knows this type of “fun” will draw us away from Him. We continue to squirm because we want to be independent. We break-away and head for the “fun”. The “fun” captures our attention and before you know it we are gone for weeks, months, or even years. Meanwhile although God knows that we chose “fun” over Him, He is anxiously waiting our return.

“Don’t you know that you yourselves are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit dwells in your midst?” (1 Corinthians 3:16)

God is eternal. He always has been and He always will be. In His Presence you experience Love and Light, Peace and Joy. He is intimately involved in all your moments, and He is training you to be aware of Him at all times. Your assignment is to work with Him in this training process. He has taken up residence within you; He is central in your inner-most being. Your mind tends to go off in tangents from its Holy Center, time after time. Do not be alarmed by your inability to remain focused on God. Simply bring your thoughts gently back to Him each time they wander. The quickest way to redirect your mind to Him is to whisper His Name.

“The Lord confides in those who fear him;

he makes his covenant known to them.

My eyes are ever on the Lord,

for only he will release my feet from the snare.”

(Psalm 25:14-15)

MY CHALLENGE PRAYER for YOU.. If you feel the urge to be independent and have “fun” whisper or shout His Name so you don’t fall for satan’s trap.

I hope you have a WONDERFUL day… Blessing & much love….D

Pure in Heart

Good Morning my friends,

“I would rather have eyes that cannot see; ears that cannot hear; lips that cannot speak, than a heart that cannot love” by Robert Tizon

Why does Jesus say we should be “pure in heart”? The reason is because our heart-our inner being-is the root of all our actions. From our heart come our motives, our desires, our goals, our emotions. If our hearts aren’t right, our actions won’t be either.

Jesus put it this way: “From within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fortifications, thefts, murders, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lewdness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride foolishness” (Mark 7:21-22).

But God wants to give us a pure heart and He will. He does this first of all when we turn to Christ in repentance and faith, for “the blood of Jesus Christ His  Son cleanses us from all sin” (1 John 1:7). But God also purifies our hearts day by day as we submit to the Holy Spirit and with His help flee from evil and seek what is good.

“Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.” (Matthew 5:8)

My CHALLENGE prayer for you… Change your heart and allow everything else to follow.

I hope you have a TREMENDOUS day… Blessing & much love….D

You Can’t Fix It

Good Morning my friends,

God is the Creator of the universe and is with you and for you. We couldn’t ask for anything more!!. When you feel that you’re lacking in some form or another, it’s because you aren’t connecting with God on a deep level. God offers us all an abundant life and your part is to trust Him and to refuse to worry about anything. It’s not so much the adverse events in your life that makes you anxious but instead your thoughts about those events. Your mind engages in efforts to take control of the situations in which you find yourself in so that you can perhaps achieve the results that you desire. Your thoughts close in on the problem like ravenous wolves. You’re determined to make things go your way, you tend to forget that God is in charge of your life. The only remedy is to switch your focus from the problem to God’s Presence. Stop your striving and watch to see what He can & will do in your life. HE IS LORD!!!

“But as for me, I watch in hope for the Lord, I wait for God my Savior; my God will hear me.” (Micah 7:7)

When things happen in our lives like natural disasters, evil acts, sickness of a family member, or even a death of a family member, questions about God tend to surface in our mind and when questions surface…doubt usually follows.. There have been times in my life when I’ve questioned God but I don’t recall ever doubting Him. I have learned that despite the horrible things that take place here on Earth that God is in control, has ALWAYS been in control and will ALWAYS be in control.. With that said, although God’s in control, He doesn’t make bad things happen.. He allows them to happen..

Man had every opportunity to live a life of perfection but instead made the decision that they would rather have knowledge & wisdom instead of a life of perfection. We must all remember that the same God that allowed the heinous acts like the Holocaust & September 11th also allowed numerous lives to be lost by things like tornados & hurricanes. He’s the same God that allows millions of babies to be aborted every year. We must remember like in all tragedies that our God is the same God whom did not spare his own Son, but instead gave him up for ALL of mankind. He gave His Son so that we might ALL have the opportunity for a perfect eternity. God has given us the opportunity for perfection by giving us Perfection in His Son Jesus.. He then allowed our perfect Gift to die on the cross for all our sins.. My friends my heart mourns every time I hear about a tragedies in this world or when I read about a death in a friends life. My heart sympathizes for those that are constantly going through trials & tribulations. I pray daily for those that are in this world and are lost but I give thanks to the Lord for He is Good, His Love endures FOREVER.

“What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?” (Romans 8:31-32)

MY CHALLENGE PRAYER for YOU.. Don’t get lost on the fixation of your problems but instead focus your attention on Him and He will bring you comfort..

I hope you have a MAGNIFICENT day… Blessing & much love….D

ALWAYS…..Live YOUR life like it’s your LAST 24!!
