Leaving a Legacy

Good Morning my friends,
Last night I had the honor to go listen to Dr. Nathanial Hearne speak at New River Fellowship Church in Hudson Oaks for their June Men’s Dinner.   Let me start out by saying that there’s something special about seeing 600 men that were willing to take the time out of their busy lives on a Thursday evening and come together for Jesus.  It’s just like Dr. Hearne stated, “that’s how it’s suppose to be.”
As I sat there and listened to Dr, Hearne speak about leaving a legacy, I looked down the row and there sat both my boys next to my dad.  I couldn’t help but ask myself, “if I had done enough” for them.  As my thoughts began to race, I reminded myself that they’re in God’s Hands and His grace is sufficient.  Dr. Hearne’s message was one that our whole nation needs to hear.  It was full of inspiration and overcoming the odds of growing up poor and not letting the surrounding circumstances define you as a person.  We live in a world where people think the latest fashion trends, greatest gadgets and nicest most expensive cars define who we are when in fact that couldn’t be further from the truth.  The only thing that defines whom you are is your character.   People aren’t going to remember that you dressed nice, carried the latest iPhone or drove an expensive car but they will remember if you had integrity, were caring or loving and trustworthy.  They will remember if you were a light unto the world.  Those are the things that define you.

“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” (John 16:33)

God surrounds you like a cocoon of Light.  His Presence with you is a promise and it is independent of your awareness of Him.  Many things can block your awareness but worry will always be your major culprit.  God’s children tend to accept worry as an inescapable fact of life, however it is a form of disbelief.  Who is in charge of your life?   If it is you, then you have good reason to worry.  But if it’s God, then worrying is both unnecessary and counterproductive.  When you start to feel anxious about something, relinquish the situation to Him, then step back and redirect your focus to Him.  God will either eliminate the problem Himself or show you how to handle it.  In this world you will have problems, but you should never lose sight of Him.

Jesus said, “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat; or about your body, what you will wear. For life is more than food, and the body more than clothes. Consider the ravens: They do not sow or reap, they have no storeroom or barn; yet God feeds them. And how much more valuable you are than birds! Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to your life ? Since you cannot do this very little thing, why do you worry about the rest? “Consider how the wild flowers grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you, not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today, and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, how much more will he clothe you—you of little faith! And do not set your heart on what you will eat or drink; do not worry about it. For the pagan world runs after all such things, and your Father knows that you need them. But seek His kingdom, and these things will be given to you as well.”  (Luke 12:22-31)

MY CHALLENGE PRAYER for YOU..   Seek His Kingdom first and glorify Him in all things you do..
I hope you all have a FANTASTIC day…   Blessings & much love….D

ALWAYS…..
Live YOUR life like it’s your LAST 24!!
