Next Step Discipleship

Good Morning my friends,
The infant church was supercharged with Gods’s power, so much that a lie couldn’t live there.  In Acts 5 we find that to be part of a Bible believing church is a serious matter.   We also see the POWERFUL ATMOSPHERE of the Church…   Ananias and Sapphira lied and they died.  There must have been some heart searching going on inside the church and some new respect outside the church.  There has always been UNSUCCESSFUL ATTACK upon the Church…   When the Jewish leaders threw the apostles in jail.  The Sanhedrin gathered the next day, but they couldn’t find the prisoners!  Peters’ testimony must be ours: “We ought to obey God rather than men.”   Then, there is the DOUBTFUL ADVICE concerning the Church…  At first glance, the advice of Gamaliel looked pretty good but there is no neutral area when it comes to our commitment to Christ.  You’re either committed fully or not committed at all.

Jesus said to his disciples, “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me.” (‭Matthew‬ ‭16‬:‭24‬)

One of the things I’ve noticed with new Christians is that they’re on fire for the Lord.  Most are ignited and ready to get involved.  They want to be at every church service and every church function..   Every time the doors are open they want to be there..  It’s my opinion that this is where most churches fail..  They fail to lead newly saved souls to the next step which is discipleship.. Discipleship is an important part of church growth and unless churches are preparing new Christians for it then churches will either remain flat or decline..  Churches need to start focusing on preparing their new Christians for the road ahead instead of putting them out on an island and thinking they’ll figure it out themselves..   I feel if churches did a better job of discipleship that our country wouldn’t be in the shape that it’s in but instead they’ve become lazy and concerned with less important things..

“Keep watch over yourselves and all the flock of which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers. Be shepherds of the church of God, which he bought with his own blood.” (‭Acts‬ ‭20‬:‭28‬)

MY CHALLENGE PRAYER for YOU…   Ask the Lord to help you be a faithful, that is fearless and  a sold out disciple today..
I hope you all have a MAGNIFICENT day…   Blessings & much love….D
Live YOUR life like it’s your LAST 24!!
