Calvary & Pentecost

Good Morning friends,
Too many churches and Christians are bogged down between Calvary and Pentecost.  They have been to Calvary for pardon, but not to Pentecost for power.  Bethlehem means God with us.  Calvary means God for us and we learn in Acts 2 that Pentecost means God in us.  It came fifty days after the Passover.  On this day the Holy Spirit came in fulfillment of prophecy.  Peter delivered the MESSAGE of Pentecost.  What was the miracle?  The wind?  The fire?  The tongues?  No, these were all temporary and passed off the scene.  The great miracle was the miracle of the salvation of 3,000 souls!

Jesus said, “I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever— the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you.” (‭John‬ ‭14‬:‭16-17‬)

The apostle Paul wrote about what we would be experiencing today in our churches in 1 Timothy 4:3-4.  “For the time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths.”

When I look at the churches of today it bothers me that so many have moved away from doctrine and have chosen to preach a watered down message.  What troubles me even more is that they’re doing this to conform to society.  Church goers complained that they don’t like to feel conviction.  Conviction is a funny thing, it has a tendency to make us mad because we feel attacked, which leads to us becoming defensive and more sensitive.  Pastors and churches have let society gradually guide them towards a false doctrine.  They’ve adopted an attitude that if we don’t talk about certain things then they must not exist.

The apostle Paul wrote the following in 1 Timothy 4:1-2,5, “In the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who will judge the living and the dead, and in view of his appearing and his kingdom, I give you this charge: Preach the word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage—with great patience and careful instruction.   Keep your head in all situations, endure hardship, do the work of an evangelist, discharge all the duties of your ministry.”

He then goes on to say in verses 6-8 that you will be rewarded for remaining steadfast, “For I am already being poured out like a drink offering, and the time for my departure is near. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day—and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing.”
My friends I encourage you to examine where you are hearing your message and if you are attending a church that is not sticking to doctrine I urge you to run away immediately..
MY CHALLENGE PRAYER for YOU…    Ask the Holy Spirit to use you to bring to others the miracle of salvation.
I hope you all have a FANTASTIC day…   Blessings & much love…D
