The Beauty of Thunderstorms

Good Morning my friends,

We are God’s for all time and beyond time into eternity.  There’s NO power that can ever deny our inheritance in heaven.  God wants us to know how secure we are once we come to faith!   He will never let go of your hand.   Knowing the future is absolutely assured frees you to live abundantly everyday.  God prepares every day for you with the most tender concern and attention to detail.  Instead of approaching the day as a blank page that you need to fill up, try living in a responsive mode: being on the lookout for all that God is doing.  This sounds easy, but it requires a deep level of trust, based on the knowledge that His ways are perfect.

“As for God, his way is perfect: the word of the Lord is tried: he is a buckler to all those that trust in him.” (Psalm 18:30)

“Today is a new day.  It’s a blank canvas for me to draw a new picture.” Have you ever heard anyone say that?   As a follower and believer that puts all of his faith in Christ, I find that statement troubling.  God is the artist and He paints our canvas daily.   When we take control of the paint and canvas is when we get ourselves into trouble.   If you will just STOP….and look around, God will paint you an amazing picture filled with beauty that is far beyond what you could ever create yourself..   There is beauty ALL around you that God choses specifically for you and your life.

One evening a couple of years ago,  Keri & I were driving back towards Weatherford from Ft Worth and we witnessed one of the most breath-taking thunderstorms that I’ve ever seen…  There’s not many things more beautiful than a thunderstorm.  The majestic black clouds were rolling slowly.  The flashes of lighting built behind the clouds while barely illuminating the night sky.  There was so much beauty within those scenes.  I remember the shades & depth of the different colors of grays, black, deep purples, and greens that were all blended together across the sky were amazingly beautiful.  Those pictures combined with the deep sounds of thunder rumbling across the sky for what seemed like days were unbelievable.  The wind began to blow and sway the trees back and forth as if they were Fred Astair  & Ginger Rogers dancing.  An occasional bolt of lighting exploded to the ground in mere milliseconds and then its earth shaking boom followed.   I was awestruck by the beauty of the storm as it unfurled in front of me.  We eventually made it to the storm and the sky opened and released huge drops of rain and pea size hail.  So much rain that my windshield wipers couldn’t keep up.  It was about 20 minutes of downpour and then I got to witness the backside of the storm in my rear view mirror.

God is truly an AMAZING artist.   He paints beauty all around us but we just have to STOP and turn our attention towards Him and allow Him to paint our canvas as we walk.

“The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord : and he delighteth in his way. Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the Lord upholdeth him with his hand.” (Psalm 38:23-24)

My CHALLENGE PRAYER for YOU….   STOP!!!!  Allow God to paint your canvas…

I hope you all have a MAGNIFICENT day…   Blessings & much love….D

Live YOUR life like it’s your LAST 24!!
