Good Morning my friends,
Do you try to control everything? I do!! Why do people try to do that? We try to be in control of so many things that sometimes I think we forget what is important in life. As most of you know I’ve been going to Arlington Baptist College to get my degree in General Bible Studies. Last year I took a class called Biblical Conflict Resolution. This class teaches you how to handle conflict in the church. A lot of the things that I learned can also be applied in the workforce and in my personal life as well.
The controlling ways of people is what creates the most conflict in the church. I heard about and/or witnessed churches split over the color of hymnals, the color of the paint on the walls, the color of carpet or tile, over the type of music that is sang during a church service, whether to have other instruments than a piano or organ, & over how rapid the church is growing. I think people tend to forget that it’s not about what they want personally. It’s about discipleship… It’s about the lifting up & the glorification of our Holy Christ. We get so caught up in our own pettiness that we lose sight of what church is about. When I see or hear about people in a church getting in an uproar over a woman wearing pants, a man not wearing a suit, or someone wearing shorts, I think to myself seriously do you think it really matters. Does Jesus really care about the clothes you wear? Jesus told his disciples in Luke 12:31, “Seek his kingdom.” That’s the only thing we should be concerned about in our daily life including at church.
Seek Jesus and you will find not only His Presence but also His Peace. To receive His Peace, you must change your grasping, controlling stance to one of openness and trust. The only thing you can grasp without damaging your soul is Jesus’ hand. Ask His Spirit within you to order your day and control your thoughts, because your when He controls your mind by the Spirit is Life and Peace. You can have as much of Jesus and His Presence as you want.. You make thousands of choices each day so make Him apart of them. The most persistent choice you face in each day is whether to trust Him or to worry. You will never run out of things to worry about, but you can choose to trust Jesus no matter what. He is an ever present help in time of need.
“God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea.” (Psalm 46:1-2)
My CHALLENGE prayer for YOU!! Let go of your controlling ways and focus on trusting Jesus and your personal discipleship.
I pray that YOU have a TERRIFIC day. Blessings & much love…. D
Live YOUR life like it’s your LAST 24!!!
