Faith: A Priority or Convenience

It’s Friday but Sunday’s Coming!!!

Good Morning my friends,

God’s Peace is the treasure of all treasures. It is a pearl that was paid for with a great price. A costly gift that was purchased for you with Jesus’ blood. You receive this gift by trusting Him in the midst of life’s storms. If everything is going your way and you don’t seek His unfathomable Peace during the good times why would you during the bad? Thank God when things do not go your way, because spiritual blessings come wrapped in trials. Adverse circumstances are normal in a fallen world. Expect them each day. Rejoice in the face of hardship, for I have overcome the world.
“Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds,”(James 1:2)
I was reading my YouVersion daily devotion the other day and it was Matthew 6:34. In that verse Jesus said, “Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own. ” As I do most of the time, I went back and read the beginning of the chapter to make sure I knew what Jesus was saying. Verses 25-34 are labeled DO NOT WORRY.. As I read through these verse I couldn’t help but to stop & think about the silly things that we worry about in this society. If you work in an office take a look around you and check out everyone. Really check them out. Are they wearing name brand clothing & accessories? Is their hair perfect? What about their make-up? Is it perfect everyday? Can you determine what day it is because someone goes and gets a mani & pedi on this day every month? Do you want to see something really funny? Go to the grocery on Saturday morning and check out the people. There are people that will go to the grocery store on Saturday morning that will be made up like its a work day. Don’t get me wrong.. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with looking nice but my question is this, do they devote as much time with God as you they do shopping for their wardrobe, worrying about what they’re going to wear, getting ready to go to work or go out on the town? Are you as precise about reading your Bible as you are getting your mani & pedi, gym time, your haircut & colored? Just something to think about? Maybe your priorities have become out of whack. My priorities get out of whack. I still have days when I waste my time doing unnecessary things when I could be drawing closer to God or spending time with my family. Perhaps we should rethink our priorities.. They’re Saturday’s that I spend 11hrs watching nothing but Barrett-Jackson Auction.. But yet I only spend about an hour in His Word.

Jesus said, “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” (John 16:33)

My CHALLENGE prayer for you. Make God the priority over your wardrobe or whatever is ahead of Him…

I hope you all have a TREMENDOUS day… Blessings & much love….D

Live your life like it’s your LAST 24!!
