Good Morning my friends,
Have you ever been around someone that can be on TOP of the world at one moment and then on the verge of devastation the next? If you were to put their life on a graph, it would look more like a lie detector test than anything else.. There life consist of no plateaus only peaks & valleys. My life nor my walk with Christ is by NO MEANS perfect. I have days that are difficult.. I have days that I don’t want to do anything besides chill.. I don’t want to read my Bible, write my devotional or do my school work.. I WANT TO JUST CHILL…
“I am with you and will watch over you wherever you go, and I will bring you back to this land. I will not leave you until I have done what I have promised you.” (Genesis 28:15)
I have to remind myself that chillin is what the old me use to do… I look at life a lot different than I did before I was saved. I approach life different than the person that just wanted to chill.. I remind myself that Jesus chose not to chill but instead He chose to be crucified for me & my sins..
“I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want.” (Philippians 4:12)
We can choose to live as close to God as I want. God sets up no barriers between us; nor does He tear down the barriers that we decide to erect. Most people tend to believe that their circumstances determine the quality of their lives. They pour their time and energy into trying to control all situations. They feel happy when things are going their way and sad or frustrated when things don’t turn out like they had planned or hoped. They rarely question the correlation between their circumstances and their feelings. It’s possible to be content in all situations and that happens when we choose to put more of our time & energy into trusting God and enjoying His Presence. Don’t connect your well-being to your circumstances but instead connect your joy to God’s precious promise that He is with you and will watch over you wherever you go. That He will meet all your needs according to His glorious riches and that nothing in all creation will be able to separate you from His Love.
“And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:19)
I use to walk around just believing in God and proudly stated that “I’m a believer.” Believing in God isn’t enough. Believing will not keep you out of Hell. Satan believes in God. In fact, he knows that God exist. Just because you’re able to quote a little Scripture doesn’t mean that you’ve punched the ticket that will get you to Heaven. Satan can quote Scripture all day long.. He is also able to twist its meaning into ways that it wasn’t meant.. Quoting Scripture comes with having a head knowledge and having a head knowledge of The Bible, God, Jesus & the Holy Spirit is not going to get you to Heaven either.. You have to have a heart knowledge to get to Heaven. When you accept Jesus as your personal Savior you invite Him into your heart and once you do that you will experience a change in your heart. Will your life gonna be perfect? NO, of course not… But the way you handle life and approach life will be different.. When you have a heart knowledge of Jesus, you will no longer want to do things of the world. Your life will look like the graph.. It will have plateaus. There will be long periods in your life where no matter what occurs, you will embrace them for what they are and continue on..

My CHALLENGE prayer for YOU… Examine yourself and determine if you have a head or heart knowledge…
